Historically,malaria was highly prevalent in Fujian Province,at one time the incidence was 3076.9／ten thousand in 1938,266.4/ten thousand in l954 and 238.3/ten thousand 1972.An.lesteri as called An.sinensis of the narrow decked egg type (Yao and Wu,1934),An.lesteri[Ho,1962],An.lesteri anthropophagus[Xu et Fen,1975] and Anopheles anthropophagus in China [Ma,1981,Lu,1997].First reported An.Lesteri as An.sinensis of the narrow decked egg type in Shun-chang County(1958) and Min-hou County(1960) in Fujian Province.
