  Usnea have been used for a long time in Indonesia for traditional medicine and crude material for jamu.The growth of domestic jamu industry and the demand are further important factors leading to excessive harvesting practices and the disappearance of Usnea from forest.There is little emphasis given to the importance of sustainability.As a consequence U.misaminensis used as ingredient of jamu have become now endangered.
