[Fe]-hydrogenase can catalyze the activation of H2 in the presence of methenyltetrahydromethanopterin(methenyl-H4MPT+),and its active site contains one Fe atom,which is coordinated by two cis-CO,a cysteine sulfur atom(Cys 176),a labile water,and a bidentate acylmethylpyridinol ligand(Figure 1).
