Background:Persons with HIV infection and AIDS are at risk for neuropsychiatric comorbidity,particularly depression and neurocognitive disorders.Though the magnitude of the HIV problem has been recognized in China recent years,the depression in HIV/AIDS patients and its impact to daily functioning have never been studied in China.This study reports the finding of rates of major depression and suicidality and their associations with daily functioning in HIV infected and uninfected persons in China.
