This paper studied the damage mechanism of reinforced concrete(RC)piers under vehicle collisions based on the nonlinear finite element software LS-DYNA,analyzed the influences on the impact effects of some critical parameters,such as the vehicular impact speed,truck mass,cross-section size of piers,stirrup reinforcement ratio and axial compression ratio,etc.,focusing on the shear failure rule of RC piers.
