This paper presents a systematic examination of the tour guide and guiding management in Hainan, China.Through an in-depth investigation of the various aspects of the management practice, the study explores the existing issues and problems as well as the resulting influences on the guiding performance there.Implications are then revealed for the purpose of raising local attention to the urgent need to improve Hainans tour guide management.Meanwhile, considering the importance of guiding service in the tourism industry worldwide, the lessons found in Hainan may be of significant value to other tourism places, especially those who are experiencing similar situations.
