Glycosylation is one of the most important post-translational modifications of proteins, which has been reported to affect the epitopes of plant and insect allergens.However, there are few reports about the role of glycan in the crab allergen.The periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) staining, β-elimination, sulfuric acid/phenol and anthrone/sulfuric acid methods used to characterize the sugar properties of TM showed it to be a glycoprotein with only 0.1% carbohydrate, which contains both N-glycan and O-glycan.
