Endometriosis is characterized by the presence of endometrium-like lesions outside the uterine cavity. The main symptoms are pelvic pain, including dysmenorrhea, chronic pelvic pain and deep dyspareunia, and infertility. There are three major symptoms associated with endometriosis that require treatment: 1) infertility, 2) ovarian endometrioma, and 3) pelvic pain.Patients may have two or three symptoms.Appropriate treatment must be selected after accurately analyzing the symptoms and considering the needs of individual patients.
