  China is a country with a long history.With the unceasing enhancement of the ability to change the nature and to conquer the nature,the distribution of the settlements is from scattered to living with large settlements as the center,and then form the social estate.The connectivity analysis between ancient settlements could provide some clues for research the distribution rule of ancient settlements.So explore the connectivity of the ancient sites has an important meaning for studying the material supply and the relationship of ancient settlements.This article takes the area of Linfen basin in south of Shanxi province,China,as the study area.According to legend,the site of present-day Linfen was the capital of Yao,a legendary ruler more than 4000 years ago.So there are many ancient sites with different period.In this article,take 59 ancient sites in four periods which respectively in Yangshao,Longshan,Miaodigou and Zhou period.Find the location of these sites on remote sensing image,and then divided sites into a giant,large,medium,small four categories based on area.Use the connectivity analysis method which is usually used in landscape ecology,to analyze connectivity of the ancient sites in studying area from two aspects: connectivity analysis of sites in different types; connectivity analysis of sites in different periods.Choose Aggregation Index,Patch Density,Integral Index of Connectivity,Probability of Connectivity these four connectivity index as measure indicators.AI means aggregation index,the higher the value,the stronger of connection tightness between the patch and around.The result shows that giant sites and large site have higher index value,value decreased with the reduction of site area and the PD index for small sites point are higher compared with other sites in the same period,this is mainly due to that the number of small sites is largest.
