This presentation addresses the problem of how task design, rooted in a constructivist theory of the mind (thinking and learning), may contribute to studying mathematical processes in the brain.Specifically, the reflection on activity-effect relationship framework indicated the importance of breaking apart task components to fit with an inferred thought process involved in comparing two numbers.
