Airway epithelial cells have been postulated to play an important role in the parthenogenesis of asthma.Although the structural and functional defects of airway epithelial cells have been speculated to exacerbate asthma severity,the role of these defects remains uncertain.Integrin β4(ITGB4)is a structural adhesion molecule that is involved in the regulation of the cell proliferation,the anti-oxidation abilities and a number of the immune responses of airway epithelial cells.
