Plantago asiatica L,which belongs to the Plantago spp.,is distributed mainly in the Eurasian continent.The seeds of Plantago asiatica L are a kind of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) which is commonly used in folk medicine for the treatment of bronchitis,wounds,diarrhea,chronicdy,constipation,hyperpiesia,glycemian and so on.In this paper,the effects of concentration,temperature,pH,salt concentration on the viscosity of soluble dietary fiber (SDF) in the seeds ofPlantago asiatica L were studied.The variation of viscosity and quality about SDF in artificial gastric juice and intestinal juice was also researched.
