The Tianshan Mountain is a solid reservoir and water tower in Mid Asia.The precipitation(snow and rainfall)on the mountainous areas is several times higher than that on the lower dry deserts.The snow & glacier-melted water are critical sources for the surrounding streams,lakes and groundwater,determine the local usable fresh water resources and play a key role on regional ecology,oasis agriculture and social-economical development.
