PhIO is a common hypervalent iodine compound1 and plays an important role in the oxidation of hydrocarbons under the catalysis of transition metal complexes2.It is believed that the synergetic interaction of the transition metal complexes is essential since PhIO is not strong enough to oxidize C-H bond.
