The bionic non-smooth surface is employed to rotating machinery,such as gas turbines and fans,for its good drag-reduction characteristics.Still,there are less detailed researches on its application in pumps,especially on its dynamic performance.Therefore,based on the principle of bionic drag reduction,the U-groove-structure surface treatment is selected on the working surface of impeller.The research object is a vertical single-stage centrifugal pump.The external characteristic and pressure fluctuation of flow filed inside the pump are investigated in detail.The numerical results show that,the impeller with U-groove-structure has a higher head and efficiency than original one.The pressure fluctuations of flow filed inside the pump are investigated in detail.The findings of this work can be of reference in further study on the configuration of blade design in centrifugal pumps.
