Long noncoding RNAs are novel regulators in central nervous system. Here,we identified a cerebellum highly expressed lncRNA1-CeH-lncRNA1.Compared with olfactory bulb, hippocampus and hypothalamus, CeH-lncRNA1 was exclusively expressed in adult mouse cerebellum as the second highest expressed CeH-lncRNA among the 63 tested CeH-lncRNAs.Subcellular location assay showed that the majority of CeH-lncRNA1 was located in nucleus.Modulation of the CeH-lncRNA1 level in neuron 2a cells by lentiviral-based shRNA or overexpression greatly affected the mRNA levels of several cerebellum development associated genes including Cbln3 and Zic5,suggesting that CeH-lncRNA1 may play roles in mouse cerebellum development via transcriptional regulation. The in vivo role of CeH-lncRNA1 is currently under investigation.
