Based on the organic composition and proportion of carbohydrate,fat and protein analysis on primary and excess sludge of Qingdao urban sewage treatment plant,this paper mainly discussed the theoretical prediction on potential of anaerobic digestion rate and gas production.In order to validate the theoretical prediction,an experiment on anaerobic digestion of a representative sludge was set up to test the actual gas production rate.The results showed that,the highest organic matter content of Qingdao urban sewage treatment plant sludge is 78.1%,the lowest is 47.6%.The maximum proportion of organic matter is protein,the minimum proportion is fat.The highest percentage of protein accounts for organic matter is 61.4%,the lowest percentage is 23.0%.The highest percentage of fat accounts for organic matter is 18.2%,the lowest percentage is 4.3%.According to the content of organic matter,the maximum theoretical digestion efficiency of Qingdao urban sewage treatment plant sludge is 81.2%,the minimum is 20.1%.The highest theoretical gas production is370 mL/gTS,the lowest is 70 mL/gTS.The theoretical prediction on potential of anaerobic digestion is feasible,the discrepancy of gas production between theoretical prediction and actual experimental is 2.9%.
