Mg-beta-alumina powders prepared via Pechinis method have been characterized with X-ray diffraction,SEM,Surface Area Measurements,Infrared Spectroscopy and Thermal analysis.It is known that additives as Mg in β-alumina can spontaneously migrate to the particle interface and segregate as an attempt to lower the surface energy and since additives are needed to beta-alumina phase stabilization,the role of surface segregation,which modifies the surface energy of nanoparticles.
