Alcoholic liver disease (ALD) is a toxic liver diseases resulted from overdose of alcohol intake.Long-term consumption of alcohol result in some of the liver abnormalities,ranging from simple steatosis to steatohepatitis,cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.The incidence of ALD is reported to be increasing in our country.Mice have been used in the reported animal models for alcoholic hepatitis (AH) research.In order to improve the sensibility and accuracy of the model,rats were used to create a new animal model in this work.12 female rats were chosen to be treated with 2 gavages of 56% alcohol everyday.
