In this study, a review about the development of BMG matrix composites by the Bridgman solidification was given. By adjusting the withdrawal velocities, the scale and the volume fraction of dendrites dispersed in the glass matrix were tailored effectively. The best mechanical performances can be determined by optimizing the solidification parameters. Based on the relationship between the microstructure and the mechanical properties, the dendrites with a reasonable range of the scales can be available to restrict the propagation of shear bands.
