Microsatellites are currently the most widely used markers for inferring genetic diversity.Parentage testing is very important in the camelids heritage assessment and genetic improvement.This article focuses on description of genetic diversity and parentage testing using SSR markers in camelids, further prospect utilization of SSR markers for parentage testing in bactrian camels.
