古建筑年代的鉴定是判断建筑文物价值的一项基本工作;年代鉴定方法一靠文献,二看建筑形制,综合考察始能判断;乡土建筑分布广,形制不规范,时代特征不统一,文献资料不全,年代鉴定难度大;对乡土建筑研究的重点应放在对其全面价值的研究上,包括村落与个体建筑形态,因地制宜的技术,装饰艺术的丰富多彩等,年代鉴定不是重点。
