With the energy crisis intensified and peoples increasing awareness of environmental protection,wind energy as one of the clean,non-polluting and renewable energy sources,has attracted world high attention.Wind energy utilization in the building environment has the advantage that it can avoid transporting cost,especially for residents without electricity.Considering wind energy utilization around buildings,especially the flat roof type,this paper presents the analysis of a three-dimensional wind field around buildings including a CFD numerical simulation method.By simulating the wind with different directions and different speeds,the characteristics of the wind field around a single flat roof building and two identical flat roof buildings were analyzed.It investigated the distribution of wind in two aspects,namely,the wind speed and turbulence intensity.The wind energy efficiency of the flat roof was also analyzed.Considering the wind speed,wind direction,and turbulence intensity,the best position to install the wind turbine on flat roofs is also discussed in this paper.
