  甜橙主产于巴西、美国及中国华南、华东地区,其种植面积是柑橘类中最广泛的一种,果肉可直接食用或榨制果汁,果皮中因含有丰富的萜烯类及黄酮类化合物而具有较高利用价值。目前,甜橙皮中的香味活性成分的提取方法主要有传统的冷压法、水蒸气蒸馏法、无溶剂微波萃取法及超临界CO2萃取法,提取得到的甜橙油因具有较好的香气,深受消费者青睐,现己广泛应用于食品、烟草、化妆品和医药等领域中。甜橙油的特征香气是消费者衡量甜橙油品质的重要指标,国内外部分学者曾通过GC-MS和GC-O等技术分析甜橙类的挥发性成分。
