  具身中的世界是以定向的方式向人显现的,并且世界的定向空间是从投入到日常生活中的具身空间性中派生出来的,现象学认为具身空间性就是身体本身的空间体验;从许多研究中可以发现情绪的表达和理解与身体的空间结构有很多对应的地方,例如:在身体的方向空间中,眼神、手势等身体激动就是一种方向空间,这种方向总是对应着特定空间中的人;在与人身体直立姿势相对应的"上""下"空间中,发现在表情图片实验中,上下颠倒的图片对于被试来说是没有意义的;在与身体有密切关系的深度空间中,发现了视崖现象;另外,具身认知还认为在原初震颤状态中的身体能超越具体的躯体位置和界限而体验到情绪的气氛空间,这种空间性可以在"宽广"和"狭窄"这两种意义上得到理解。
