Object occlusion takes place when part of the object is not visible or is overlapped by other objects.Partial occluded object recognition has significant importance in industrial environment,especially in automated assembly tasks.It is considered as one of the most difficult problems in machine vision.We have tried to solve this problem using several different approaches over the years.In this paper,we introduce the partial occluded object recognition problem and describe the works we have done using the following approaches:skeleton approach,dominant point approach,scale space filtering approach,curve moment approach and wavelet approach.The comparison between these approaches will also be given.
