In order to examine the effectiveness of interacting with learning materials by students,designed as a constructionism-oriented learning on computer,this study had put forth predict-observe-explain(POE)learning model to design the mechanisms of inquiry procedure named as “WhyWhy.” Specifically,measures of the progress of using POE to inquiry science concept in relation to cognitive anxiety and cognitive load.Achievement tests were also given to 152 5th grade students before and after 6 weeks practicing WhyWhy in Tablet.The results indicated that if those participants had high level of interest in learning science,they would have low level of cognitive anxiety and extraneous cognitive load,and reflect to a high level of self-confidence improved and they would have more progress in achievement tests.Implications for POE model in science learning and future research are discussed.
