  Objectives: To investigate the genetic contribution to the variation in blood pressure (BP) response to metoprolol,polymorphisms in the Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE),α-adducin (ADD1),β1-adrenergic receptor (ADRB1),β2-adrenergic receptor (ADRB2),angiotensinogen (AGT),angiotensin receptor 1 (AGTR1),Cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6),endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS),G-protein β3 subunit (GNB3) and thiazide-sensitive Na-Cl cotransporter genes were evaluated for their association with BP response to metoprolol monotherapy in the Chinese population with hypertension.
