A novelAg2O/TiO2nanocompositeaerogel was synthetized through sol-gel method as highly efficient antibacterial agent, followed by drying with supercriticalethanol.In this work, TBOS as Ti source was added to ethyl alcohol with stirring, and then composed of HNO3 as inhibitors to control hydrolysis.AgNO3as Ag source was dissolved by ethyl alcohol and deionized water with stirring and then embedded in titanium sol to form Ag2O/TiO2composite aerogel.Compared with the single titanium dioxidenanoparticles, Ag2O/TiO2composite aerogel showed the outstanding antibacterial performance against escherichia coli and staphylococcus aureus.
