Nano-sized hexagonal WO3·0.33H2O with a mesoporous structure is prepared by the solution combustion method, which is firstly used as an anode material for high performance lithium-ion batteries. The sample is characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),thermal analysis,FTIR spectroscopy and SEM.The results indicate that WO3·0.33H2O nanopartieles have a hexagonal crystal structure. The electrochemical properties are researched by cyclic voltammetry(CV)and galvanostatic discharge/charge cycling. The prepared WO3·0.33H2O electrode shows a high and reversible capacity of 758 mAh·g-1 after 80 cycles at 100 mA·g-1,which is higher than the reported tungsten oxide hydrate. The specific structure can provide efficient channels for the fast transport of Li+.Therefore, hexagonal WO3·0.33H2O shows a great potential as anode material for lithium-ion batteries.
