Background Unilateral fixation is an alternative choice for lumbar fusion.Many RCTs assessed the advantages and disadvantages between unilateral fixation and traditional bilateral fixation in lumbar fusion,but the reported results were controversial.The goal of this article is to determine which type of fixation provides the better clinical and functional outcomes for patients who received lumbar fusion.
