Aims To construct in vitro models of normal uterine arterialvascular network through vascular corrosion casting andex-plore their characteristics and clinical significances. Methods Three sets of uterus, vagina and bilateral adnexawere peffused and cast via uterine artery and ovarian artery, using 25,20 and 1 5%chlorinated poly vinyl chloride, respectively, and constructed into models one,two and three ofthe uter-ine arterial network correspondingly.followed byobserving their characteristics. Results There existedimportant simi-larities and differences among the three modelsin display-ing uterine arterial network:in model one, theuterine arte-rial trunk, its branches and partial spiral arterieswere sharp-ly demonstrated except the tiny ones;model twofurther displayed the communicating branches betweenbilateral spiral arteries, the arterial v&,cular network of ovarianartery and the anastomoses between the arterial blood supply ofuterus and ovaries;model three presented the tiny branch-es,especially the obvious communicating branches, the completearterial Vsscular network of ovary and fallopian tube andanastomoses between them. Conclusions A pan-orama ofthe uterine arteriaI vasular network is obtained under organic combination of the three models, which is surely promising for clinical teaching, selections of different approaches andinterventional therapy in obstetrics and gy-necology.
