The Nagoya Protocol (NP) on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization was adopted by the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) on 29 October 2010 in Nagoya, Japan.By August 2013, 91 Parties had signed and 19 ratified the NP.This Protocol will enter into force 3 months after 50 Parties have completed their ratification procedures, and this is expected before the end of 2014.
