Taxol, an important and expensive anticancer drug, was found in extremely low amount in Taxus brevifolia bark.Recently, a new taxol-producing strain had been isolated and identified.In this study, we purified a high concentration metabolite, Compound X, from this strain, which was identified as chaetoglobosin A.Compound X was extracted by CH3COOCH2CH3, further purified by RP-HPLC and crystallization.The purity of compound X obtained finally was higher than 95%.We identify the molecular mass of compound X via HPLC-ESI-MS and FT-ICR-MS (see Fig.l) and identify the molecular formula as C32H36N2O5, which was same with chaetoglobosin A, B and C, secondary metabolites from Chaetomium globosum.
