The development of stimuli-responsive materials is important for smart devices and systems.Among them, graphene with outstanding electric, thermal, mechanical properties presents the great promise for use as the new materials in response to the environmental stimuli. In this regard,we have developed new methods and techniques for dimension-tailed fabrications of functional graphene architectures.Zero-dimensional(0D)graphene quantum dots, macroscopic 1D graphene fibers,2D graphene films and 3D graphene frameworks have been systematically prepared through various strategies such as electrochemical cutting and dimension-confined assembly. We have revealed the new properties and unconventional applications of dimension-defined graphene structures in stimuli-responsive materials and devices such as actuators. This work will present the new insight on the graphene manufacture based on the dimensionality for practical applications.
