The insect family Delphacidae (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea) includes approximately 2100 described species and is the most speciose and economically important of the ～20 planthopper families (Urban et al.2010).Up until now, more emphasis has focused on the male genitalia in this family for separating species and for phylogenetic study.Female genitalic characters have not been used extensively due to the apparent lack of distinguishing features and the paucity of morphological variations when compared with the male genitalia (Ding 2006).
