Downshift (DS) and downconversion (DC) are important methods to modify the solar photon flux spectrum.Recently, much efforts have been made to develop NIR DC phosphors co-doped with the RE3+-yb3+ (RE=Tb, Pr, Tm, Er, Nd) couple [1-5].However, RE3+ ion has only narrow and much weak absorption peaks in the UV-to-blue region.Moreover, the DC mechanism is a second-order cooperative energy transfer (ET) process.Consequently, the ET probability is relatively low.
