Ischemic stroke (IS),which accounts for 70% of strokes worldwide, poses a serious threat to human health, with regard to the risk of mortality, subsequent disability and further complications (Murray and Lopez,2013).Exercise preconditioning (EP) (Ansar et al.,2014),which refers to the repetition of systemic exercise prior to ischemia, may induce ischemic tolerance again st a variety of secondary brain injuries caused by cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R),and may exert neuroprotective effects. In recent years, the nerve inflammation pathway has become an important focus in translational medicine for targeted ther-apy of ischemic stroke (Stetler et al.,2014).The toll-like receptor (TLR) 4/nuclear factor (NF)-κB signaling pathway plays an important role in the inflammatory pathogenesis of cerebral I/R injury. In this study,we explored the influence of EP on the activity of the toll-like receptor (TLR) 4/nuclear factor (NF)-κB signaling pathway to reduce cerebral I/R inflammatory injury in a rat model.
