Polymer solar cells with their active layer being ofa heterojunction structure have been considered as a cost effective way, namely, to convert sun light energy to electricity at a cheaper price. The key issue of achieving high power conversion efficiency (PCE) polymer solar cells is to develop novel narrow band gap conjugated polymers that have broad and intense light absorption, appropriate energy levels, good solubility, and certain crystallization ability in solid state.
