Eight Schiff bases containing triphenylamine-based have been synthesized and characterized, which exhibited different aggregation-induced emission (AIE) or aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) behavior in THF/water.The photophysical properties in solution, aqueous suspension, film and crystalline state, along with their relationships, are comparatively investigated.
