Spinnable vertically aligned multi-walled carbon nanotube (CNT) arrays were grown by chemical vapor deposition from C2H2/Ar using Fe catalyst supported on Si wafer.With the aim of improving the yield of CNT arrays, the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) conditions were systematically examined.The spinnable CNT arrays can grow to 700 μm in 10 min.The initial growth rate of spinnable CNT arrays is around 500 μm/min and the activation energy is determined to be 112 kJ/mol.
