  Willows (Salix) and poplars (Populus) are dioecious plants in Salicaceae family.Sex chromosome in poplar genome was consistently reported to be associated with chromosome ⅪⅩ.In contrast to poplar, this study revealed that chromosome ⅩⅤ was sex chromosome in willow.
