It has been recently shown that the central black hole mass of elliptical galaxies increases almost exactly proportionally to the total number of their globular clusters,NGC.With the purpose of investigating whether this or a similar relationship exists for spirals,we have begun a project aimed at measuring the GC systems of spirals with precise black hole measurements.Here,we present a progress report on the spiral galaxy NGC 4258,using optical and near-IR data obtained with the Canada-France-Hawaii telescope.
