Critical care pharmacists practice in a diverse,rapidly changing environment and need appropriate training to successfully provide optimal patient care services.The training may occur through a conventional method of completing a PGY-2 pharmacy practice residency in critical care or by an alternative method of self-directed learning for those who do not complete a traditional residency program.No matter the initial path maintain competency but to train future critical care pharmacists.This presentation will discuss recommendations and strategies in the initial training and continued development of a critical care pharmacist.
