Radiocesium activity concentrations (134Cs, 137Cs) in lichens and mushrooms were traced after one and half month of the Fukushima nuclear accident. The samples were collected in Tsukuba-city, which is located ca.170 km south from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant (NPP).The activity concentrations were different depending on species and habitat.Regarding to lichens, the maximum activity concentration of 137Cs was 22596 Bq/kg dry weight in Physcia orientalis growing on Zelkova serrata collected on 30 June 2011, while that of Hyperphyscia crocata was 4545 Bq/kg on Quercus myrsinaefolia collected on 8 March 2012.
