Software Development of Micro-optical-fiber Spectrometer for Crop Detection

  The Near-Infrared spectroscopy analysis technique has many advantages such as high analyze speed, low cost, quickly measuring, green environmental protection, detection precision,can realize the quantitative analysis of nutrients.It is one of the commonly used methods of fast,low cost detection.The Near-Infrared spectroscopy analysis technique is a physics method to analyze the matters chemistry composition and content by its emission or absorption spectra reflecting its atoms and molecules characters.This is mainly a technique used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of organic substances, especially for the hydrogen-containing group.Modern visible near infrared spectroscopy analysis is the organic combination of spectral measurement,computer technology and basic testing technology.The micro-optical-fiber sensor is designed based on the popular USB4000 model (Ocean Optics Co.Ltd).It is the core component in the spectrometer which is a generation of high performance miniature fiber optic spectrometers with powerful high-speed electronic devices.The micro-optical-fiber spectrometer can respond to the spectra of 200-1100nm.In order to detect the crop growth status in the field, the software was developed and installed in a panel computer.The control software was developed with three basic capabilities including the device parameters setting, spectral reflectance display and storage, and data processing.This paper implements the communication control function between computer and spectrometer by USB4000 spectrometer 22 needle parallel wire.The study used MICROSOFT development tools VISUAL C++ MSCOMM design and development of rapid detection of software.The software included the serial port communication, data processing and other functions.In the serial communication part, this paper introduces the general steps of serial communication and specific functions used.And the function of sending and receiving data of the software was tested with the serial communication debugging assistant and the virtual interface software.The spectral data processing function was developed using the MATCOM software based on mixed programming of VC and MATLAB.It included the spectral data standardized data processing,mean, smoothing and filtration algorithm.A series of mathematical processing of the original data were collected.The reflectance of crop canopy was measured in the field.The results showed that the software can realize the functions of presupposition.It provides the interface and data processing base for the subsequent measurement and control software development of research group.
