Energy storage is a very significant issue for utilization of solar energy due to its discontinuous and unstable energy flux.Solar water splitting can store solar energy into clean hydrogen energy directly.Since Fujishima and Honda originally reported that a TiO2 based photoelectrochemical cell in 1972 [1],intensive researches have been done in this research field for over 40 years.[2,3] However,it is still key challenge to explore high-efficiency and low-cost photoelectrodes for solar water splitting cells.
