Objective:This study is intended to investigate the iron deficiency anemia(IDA)among senior citizens in Beijing so as to provide evidence and reference for the formulation of countermeasures for prevention and treatment.Method: The test reports of peripheral hemogram and serum iron three of senior citizens over 65 years old in some parts of Beijing were collected.The incidence of iron deficiency anemia incidence was subsequently determined by a statistical analysis of the test reports,medical history and physical signs.Result: ① Total detection rate of anemia: 709 out of a total 6025 senior citizens were diagnosed as having anemia with a total detection rate of 11.77%.The comparison of the iron deficiency anemia incidence between males and females was not statistically significant(p>0.05).
