@@ 1. INTRODUCTION Eco-tourism, aiming at building a harmonious relationship between human being and the environment, is one of the most rapidly advancing segments of the tourism industry. It was defined as responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and sustains the well being of local people (Western, 1993, p.8). Aiming at environmental protection and achieving worldwide sustainable development, ecotourism is a brand-new travel style and is becoming increasingly popular. This is because it may not only increase the tourism revenues through the development of sustainable tourism, but also enhance tourists’ understanding and appreciation for natural and cultural environments. One of the main objectives of ecotourism is to create responsible travel, which respects the natural environment and contributes to local people.
