Objective: To measure the serum adipocyte fatty acid binding protein(A-FABP)and matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP-9)in patients with carotid atherosclerotic plaques and investigate the relationship between the two indicators and plaque vulnerability,and seek risk factors of vulnerable plaque.Methods: Carotid MRI(magnetic resonance imaging)and CE-MRI(contrast-enhanced MRI)were performed in patients to identify the vulnerability of the plaques.Serum A-FABP and MMP-9 level were measured in these patients.General information and biochemical indexes of the patients were collected,and the risk factors of the vulnerable plaque were explored.
